This recording of the four original Horse Flies, plus 3 percussionists, was inadvertently captured on Sunday, July 31, 1996, in the dance tent of the 6th annual Finger Lakes GrassRoots Festival of Music and Dance. The set took place near the end of the festival, and the energy between the band and the audience evolved into one of the most fun gigs we ever played.

Making a CD of this show was never part of the plan. The fact that it was recorded at all only became apparent to us three years later. The CD was made from a digital tape recorded directly from the sound board. Thus, we offer a disclaimer about sound quality. That said, we love the energy and reality it captures, and that it includes our beloved John Hayward on bass in one of the few times we performed with him during the last year of his life.
